National Memorial
The Thaddeus Kosciuszko National Memorial is located at:
301 Pine Street, Philadelphia, PA 19106, in the historic Society Hill neighborhood.
It is the smallest unit in the U.S. National Park System, encompassing just 0.02 acres. The memorial preserves the home where Thaddeus Kosciuszko, a Polish military engineer and hero of the American Revolution, resided from November 1797 to May 1798. After leading an unsuccessful Polish uprising against Russian forces, he returned to the U.S. to recuperate from his injuries. During his stay, he hosted notable visitors, including Vice President Thomas Jefferson and Chief Little Turtle of the Miami Nation.
